DATA PRIVACY STATEMENT

This privacy policy informs you about the nature, scope and purpose of the processing of personal data (hereinafter “data”) within our online offering and the web pages, functions and content connected with it. With regard to the terms used, such as “processing” or “controller”, we refer to the definitions in Art. 4 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Types of data processed

Usage data (e.g. web pages visited, times of access) and meta/communication data (e.g. device information, IP addresses). If you contact us by e-mail or telephone: the inventory and contact data you provide (e.g. name, e-mail, telephone number) and the content of your enquiry.

Provision of the online offering, its functions and content; response to contact enquiries and communication with users; security measures.

Relevant legal bases

The legal basis for processing in order to answer enquiries is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR; the legal basis for processing to safeguard our legitimate interests (in particular the secure and efficient operation of the website) is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Where we use analytics services on the basis of your consent, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

Security measures

In accordance with Art. 32 GDPR and taking into account the state of the art, we take appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure a level of protection appropriate to the risk. The website is delivered exclusively over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).

Cookies and consent

Cookies that are not technically necessary, and analytics services, are used exclusively on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (and § 25(1) TTDSG). On your first visit a notice banner appears through which you can accept or decline the use of Google Analytics. Without your consent, no analytics cookies are set and no data is transmitted to Google. Your decision is stored locally in your browser; you can change or withdraw it at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

Google Analytics 4

If you consent, we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to analyse the use of the website (e.g. pages visited, time spent, approximate location, device type). In Google Analytics 4 the IP address is, by default, only processed in truncated form, is not stored permanently and is not combined with other data. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

In this context, data may be transferred to Google servers, including in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; in addition, the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses are in place. Data collected via Google Analytics 4 is automatically deleted after the retention period we have set. Further information can be found in Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

Google Search Console

We use Google Search Console to analyse the visibility of our website in Google Search. Google provides us with aggregated, anonymised statistics about the search queries through which users reach our website. Search Console does not itself set any cookies on this website and does not require consent. To confirm ownership, a verification identifier may be embedded in the page source; it does not process any personal data of visitors.

Contact

When you contact us (by e-mail or telephone), the information you provide is processed in order to handle the enquiry pursuant to Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. We delete enquiries once they are no longer required, provided that no statutory retention obligations apply.

Hosting and server log files

To operate this website we use the services of a hosting provider. On the basis of our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), the provider collects data on every access to the server (so-called server log files), including the name of the file requested, the date and time of access, the volume of data transferred, the browser type and version, the operating system, the referrer URL and the IP address. For security reasons, log file information is stored for a limited period and then deleted.

Rights of data subjects

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) or restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), the right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR), and the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). You may object at any time to the future processing of data concerning you in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR.
